I'm sorry to read that Matt is no longer with us.  My heartfelt condolences to his wife and the Green family.  He worked with my Father Jerry at the Fort Collins Fred Schmid in the late 1980s, selling appliances.  Matt was a top salesperson there, and happened to live in the same apartment complex as us (Courtney Park Apartments).  My Father introduced me to Matt, who came over for happy hour.  He was such a friendly, fun person.  He loved to laugh, and was working out a lot in those days!  I knew him 1988-1990, and met Matt's parents and sister at the house in Boulder, CO (1988).  Matt and I ended up being roommates briefly in Aurora (1990).  Sadly, Matt and I lost touch afterwards, as I had moved to Florida.  Matt genuinely cared about people.  He never judged anyone, and was quite simply a great all around guy - he'd give anyone the shirt off his back.  Thank you for the great memories, Matt, I will keep you in my thoughts always.  Rest in peace my friend.

     Matt was an awesome cousin and friend. Growing up, he was three years older, but never made me feel little. He always made me feel welcome. I loved visiting him because every time I did he would introduce me to what was cool and new (I was the first kid in Wyoming, by months,  listening to Def Leppard). Every time I think of Matt something pops into my head that makes me smile. What a great personality he was.
     I will miss him, but I will always remember him fondly.

Matt was my best friend for a long time.He was the most loyal and giving person I've ever known. I loved him and he deserved so much better. I wish I could have told him so in person. There was never anything he wouldn't do for someone if they needed. So sorry he's gone. Nicole Walsh

Matt was a good friend for many years. He was always giving and good-spirited. From our years together in high school working together--at the Daily Camera, at Wards, then at McDuff's Appliances--to our time together at the gym, to road-tripping together to Corpus Christie, Tx for our senior trip, we always had a great time together. Even after our worlds grew farther apart, we still stayed close over my decade plus of college and grad school, and when I came back to Colorado, Matt was still always there for spending time together, doing business together or just exchanging views.

Kim, you were such a catalyst in Matt's life. You brought him the stability and love he needed, while still allowing him to be the independent man he was. I am so thankful for your many years of dedication to him that you gave and I wish you a long and happy future--the kind we all know Matt would want for you.

I am heartbroken for you and with you. Matt was a golden-hearted man with a quick smile and wouldn't turn away anyone as a friend.  I remember the first time I met him at your house and he treated me like he'd known me forever. I wish I could be there to hold your hand through this. I love you.

So sorry to hear Matt is gone. Matt was a close friend to both my sister Nicole and my brother Mark, and we thought of him as family. My first memories of Matt were being introduced to him by my sister Nicole when he worked at Montgomery Wards at about age 16, and he was their top salesperson selling appliances. He was extraordinary, and it was amazing to think that such a quiet young kid could be so successful at sales.  I remember watching him eat 5 or so Big Macs in one sitting and he was such a skinny thing I couldn't imagine how he could eat like that! Matt always seemed to me to have the heart of a child, innocent and forgiving. My condolences to his family.  Dene Daggett Kelly
