Melanie Herrmann

Melanie Herrmann was born on October 11, 1955 in Holyoke Massachusetts to Helen Ives and Edward Pritchett. Growing up, she lived all over the country and traveled frequently due to her father being in the Air Force. She graduated from Bellevue East Senior High School in Omaha, Nebraska which she deemed as her home town. Melanie received a BSBA from the University of Phoenix, which is where she met her husband Perry in 1998. The two remained friends post grad, and officially started dating in 2008 which lead to their marriage in June of 2013. Melanie had a long and successful career, starting with being a Kelly Girl at First Data in her twenties, and worked hard to move up in the ranks through Western Union and finishing her career as the Vice President of Operations at TD Bank. She raised Max as a single mother while living in Parker, Colorado, her Colorado home town, and put in many years guiding him to the best of her abilities. Melanie had a passion for helping people develop and strived to help people around her be better and successful through mentoring. Those of you who knew Melanie, knew that she loved cooking, and with that hosting dinners for friends and families, and even tailgating for Bronco games. On Saturdays, you can most likely find her in the kitchen cooking, and she was infamous for her short ribs and her favorite cocktail, a classic gin and tonic. Meanwhile on Sundays, it was a Melanie ritual to get breakfast at the Tailgate in Parker, then go to the farmers market. Melanie also had a morning tradition of having her morning coffee or tea delivered to her while still in bed and would read her iPad and text her friends.

Being the fun loving person that she was, you can always find her dancing, especially to Motown, at parties and functions, and always had a good sense of humor. Melanie loved her garden, and would look forward to Spring every year to be able to get back to gardening, and while it was winter here in Colorado, she would love to be in Florida to get away from the cold. Melanie also loved the outdoors and camping, fishing, walking the beach, and traveling around. Melanie loved her three grandchildren, Paxton, Hadley, and Clayton, and always wanted to make sure that she would be there if they were ever disagreeing with their parents, and even had a room in the basement ready at all times for them. Melanie and Perry would walk the Highline Canal almost daily, and she would always remind him to slow his pace, make their walk, enjoyable and to take everything in. Melanie was a very direct woman, and would let you know if you did anything that bothered her. She was also a shopper, and would love shopping in all sorts of places, even though she ended up, returning about 80% of what she bought. Despite how fun loving Melanie was, she was somewhat of an introvert. She didn’t like constant chatter and would make sure her iPad was close by. She loved playing word games and reading the New York Times.

She is survived by her mother and father Helen Ives Desilets and Edward Pritchett, Father Figure Marty Desilets, Sister Lisa Laughery, Brother David Pritchett, Husband Perry Herrmann, son Max Mulleneaux, Step-Daughter Ashley Romero, Step-son Justin Herrmann, Son-in-law Tony Romero, Grandchildren Paxton, Hadley and Clayton Romero, Niece Stormie Desilets, and Nephews Matthew and Adam Olson. Melanie is pre-deceased by her sister, Amanda Pritchett.

Melanie was a dear friend and mentor to many. She always inspired the people around her to be their best and treasured her family. Melanie had a healthy, wonderful life until she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the end of 2020. She fought valiantly.

Visitations for Melanie will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary at 6601 South Colorado Boulevard, Centennial on Sunday, June 20th from 12:30pm - 4pm. Services for Melanie will be held on Monday, June 21st at 1pm followed by interment and a reception, also at Olinger Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Melanie’s honor to the University of Colorado Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, link below.
