

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Nancy Jane Cole Carlson passed away peacefully on October 30, 2014. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, August 6, 1917 to Charles I. and Mary (Mamie) Cole. During her childhood she lived in Minneapolis where she later married her high school sweetheart, Orville K. (Red) Carlson. He was her devoted husband until his passing in February, 1973.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Climene Armstrong, Rochester, MN., and Dorothy Holmer, Golden Valley, MN.
Nancy was the loving mother of Leslee (Terry) Breene and Jill Louise Carlson; grandmother of Lucas (Carolann) Ellingson; great grandson Witt A. Ellingson; and caring companion of Jay G. Marks.
She dedicated her time and love to her family and friends, and was a 45-year member of the Unity Church of Denver.
Her working career included the C.U. School of Dentistry, the Iliff School of Theology, the Colorado Highway Department, and the Denver Public Library. She was a lifelong avid reader and an advanced bridge player.
As a world traveler, she visited Mexico, Europe, South America, and Australia.
Her many active memberships and charitable organizations were: the Denver Arthritis Foundation, PBS, El Jebel Shrine, The Denver Ballet Guild, ART REACH, D.A.R. (Blue Spruce Chapter).
Nancy’s hobbies included tending her prolific rose garden, ballroom dancing and golf.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Colorado Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Unity Church of Denver.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Meridian, 3455 S. Corona St, 8th Floor Sky Room, Englewood, CO, on Saturday, November 15, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
