

Norma Jean Collier, age 82, died on Friday, March 31, 2017 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born on December 6, 1934 in Dodge City, Kansas and was the second of three children. Norma’s father Roger, was a schoolteacher and her mother, Alma, operated the family farm where Norma grew up and learned the cooking skills she carried throughout her life. She was very involved in numerous activities at her high school, where she met her husband, Charles Collier. The two were married on June 8, 1953 in Dodge City, Kansas. The family moved frequently before settling down in Colorado in 1970. From the time Norma was in high school, she was employed by photographers performing retouching and other duties. She was also an accomplished ceramicist. Norma enjoyed traveling, golfing, skiing, and bridge, in addition to being a certified scuba diver. She gave birth to two sons and a daughter. Norma was loved for her laugh-at-life sense of humor and lived her life to the fullest. She was a fun loving child and she never lost that over the years. One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. Norma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Collier; sister, Donna Smith; children, Sheryl Ingraham and David Collier; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Alma Arnold; her brother, Roger Arnold; and son, Mark Collier. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 2:00pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
