

Richard moved to York, Pennsylvania, when he was 5 years old. He attended William Penn High School, where he excelled at industrial study and graduated in 1961. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Korea. During his shift in the motor pool, he had an accident when another soldier tried to start a truck he was working on. The truck caught fire and he received 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his arms. He recovered and was Honorably Discharged from the Army. He went on to work at Bendix Corp, where he met Deanna Bower in 1965, and they married on May 27, 1967. In 1972 Rich and Deanna moved the family to Colorado where Rich worked for Public Service as a Draftsman and retired in the Telecommunications division.
Throughout life, Richard loved rock music, camping, hiking, skiing, horses and the Mountains. He always took a learning moments to teach his kids and grandkids how to be good adults. He was a devoted Christian Husband, Father and Grandfather and was devout Lutheran.
Richard is preceeded in death by his parents Donald and Edith Howery and Sister Pamala Howery.
He is survived by his wife Deanna, son Christian(Jean), their children are Cian and Aidan, Daughter Jennifer (Ron) their children Tess, Halie and Zakk, and a new grandchild, Alana. We know he wanted to be here when she arrived!
