Rosa Lee Nave was born in Holly, Colorado on November 6, 1926. Her parents were Leola O’Connor and Pete Hembree. “Connie” O’Connor lived in California early in her life and moved back to Colorado where she went to school and graduated from Denver South High School. Connie was a model for May D&F in downtown Denver and also roller skated competitively.
She married Billy D. Nave, Sr. when he returned from WWII. She had two sons, Billy Nave, Jr. and Jerry Nave.
After raising her sons and sending them off to college, Bill and Connie traveled to many places and lived out their lives in Englewood, Colorado.
Connie also worked in the public school system at Sinclair Junior High School in Englewood and also at Isaac Newton Junior High School in Littleton until she retired.
Connie was Bill’s caretaker, when he took ill, for the last 10 years of his life. On Bill’s passing, Connie remained in her house until November of 2011 when she moved in with her son, Jerry and his wife, Victoria. Here she finally found the peace and love that she had given freely early in her life.
