Sonya Ann Engle was born September 15, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana to Lucille "Lucy" and Fred McKown.
She attended Warsaw High School and went on to Indian University where she was Kappa Alpha Theta. After high school she was in the USO and provided entertainment to the troops. When her high school sweetheart, Don Engle, returned from war, they married and welcomed 4 children into their family. Her children meant the world to her and she cared for them day and night. She especially loved attending school events and made it a point to be at every one. Sonya also loved bowling, bingo, and swimming.
Sonya is proceeded by her daughter; Melody "Mimi".
Sonya is survived by her husband of 75 years; Don Engle, sister; Jeanine "Windy" Cavell, her children; Chris, Ann, and Rory, her grandchildren; Tanner, Molly, Carl, Genell, her great grandchildren; Charlotte, Aiden, Cadence, Clover, Lathem, Easton, McKenna, and many extended family members and friends.
