Ubaldo “Rudy” A. Ruybal, a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and lifelong Colorado native, passed away surrounded by family on December 05, 2025 in Denver, Colorado. Born on November 24, 1930, in Capulin Colorado to Carlota and Elfido Ruybal, Ubaldo grew up rooted in the values that would guide his entire life—family, military service, humility, and quiet strength.
Answering the call to serve his country, Ubaldo enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated 21 honorable years. His military journey took him across the globe, including Greenland, England, Japan, the Philippines, and several other stations. While serving in the Philippines, fate led him to the love of his life, Lilia. They were married on August 20, 1966, beginning a partnership filled with love, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion that spanned 59 years.
Together, Ubaldo and Lilia raised two daughters, Rowena and Rose, who were the pride of his life. A strong yet gentle man, Ubaldo embodied what it meant to be a family man—steady, dependable, and always willing to give of himself. He was easygoing and adaptable, the kind of person who “went with the flow” but stood firm when it mattered most. His caring nature, quiet demeanor, and subtle, undercover humor made him deeply loved by all who knew him.
Ubaldo was also a dedicated Denver Sports fan, cheering faithfully for the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets. Whether watching a game, sharing a story from his Air Force days, or simply enjoying time with family, he brought warmth and authenticity to every moment.
To know Ubaldo was to know kindness without condition and strength without boast. He will be remembered as a proud military man, a man of character, and a man who lived his life with grace, love, and humility.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Lilia; his daughters, Rowena (Jaime) and Rose (Jeremy); and his five cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Randee, Alexis, Jenasea and Ryan. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering love.
May he rest in peace.
