Wayne Jacobs died in Lakewood Colorado after a lengthy struggle with dementia. Wayne was born in Denver to Frank and Waunita Jacobs and raised at Cross Mountain in Moffat County. He served in the US Army infantry during World War II and, following his honorable discharge in 1946, operated heavy equipment for the construction of the Granby Dam and for drilling rigs in northern Colorado and southwestern Nebraska.
He was married to the former Wanda Hart and had two children - Sandra and Dale. After he divorced and returned to Denver, he spent most of his adult life working as a journeyman plumber and supervising new housing construction in the Denver area. He was later married to the former Judy Black and had a son - Kevin.
He enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years, daughter, two sons, granddaughters Molly, Sophie and Hannah, sisters Georgia Eileen Jacobs, Shirley Ruth Sawyer, Frances Arlene Jacobs and Dorothy Mae Martin, and many nieces and nephews - all living in the Denver area.
