Amy Kathryn Sypher

Amy K. Sypher, of Essex, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Dorothea Norton and the late Thomas Norton. Amy is survived by her mother, her daughter Kaity Sypher (Fiancée Mike), her aunts, Joann Stone, Marie Negrelli and Margaret Perry, and Her Fiancée Bill Richardson. Amy is also survived by her sisters Susan Garcia (Tommy), Diane Ruitto, Patricia Corcoran, and Sherri Shaw, 7 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and many friends.

Amy grew up in Ivoryton, CT, and graduated from Valley Regional High School, Class of 1975. She was employed at the LC Doane Company for 44 years and retired in 2023. Amy was also a dedicated and respected member of the Essex Ambulance Association for 26 years.

Amy loved the beach and travelling, especially going on cruises to the Islands in the Caribbean. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was loving, kind-hearted and devoted to helping other people. Amy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

A Public Visitation will be held for Amy on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT 06409. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Essex Ambulance Association or the American Cancer Society.
