Barbara Ann Mason, 79, of Chester, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 12, 2023 in Middlesex Hospital. Born on August 21, 1943 she was one of 21 children of the late Joseph Frederick Smith and Marion (Molyneux) Smith. She loved animals and was a kind, humble and giving person but above all was the dedicated matriarch of the family. Barbara is survived by her son Robert Window Smith (Gwen), Donald Louis Mason Jr., John J. Mason Sr., Deborah Mason, brother, John Smith and sister, Catherine Saunders, 6 grandchildren and 15 adored great-grandchildren. Sadly Barbara is predeceased by her parents, siblings, beloved daughter Billy Joe Mason and best friend Arthur Henry Bach.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday August 23, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. with a service at 6:45 p.m. at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home 34 Main Street Centerbrook, CT 06409.
