

Barry F. Ziman, age 76, of South Riding, VA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 after a brief illness. Originally from Butler, PA, Barry was the son of Rita and Jack Ziman, who preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Navy and had a 30-year career with the federal government, serving abroad in Germany, Indonesia, and Italy. Following retirement from his federal government service, he continued to work as a government contractor with a number of companies. He was an active member of Centreville United Methodist Church, serving as an usher and participating in children’s ministries with FACETS and UPWARD basketball. Lately, he enjoyed weekly breakfasts with the “OMG” (Old Men’s Group). Survivors include former wife, Barbara, of Warrenton, VA; two sons: Brian (wife Elaine) of Seattle, WA and Matthew (wife Alicia) of Nutter Fort, WV; grandson Noah of Nutter Fort, WV; three brothers: Sheldon (wife Linda) of Maryland, Samuel (wife Linda) of Texas, and Harvey (wife Bonnie, deceased) of Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved cat, Shadow.
A funeral service will be conducted at Centreville United Methodist Church in Centreville, VA on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 1:00pm. Interment, with full military honors, will take place in Westbrook, CT the following Wednesday.
