Donna B. Jones

Donna (Brooks) Jones, 75, of Old Saybrook, passed away April 6th after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born in Old Saybrook, graduated from Mercy High School and then Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in teaching. She was employed by the East Haddam Board of Education as a 2nd grade teacher for her entire 38 year career where she became known for her cheerful personality, her wealth of knowledge, her generosity, and her willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of her students and coworkers. She embraced those same values after retirement by devoting her time to caring for her parents. She is survived by her former husband, Judson Jones; son and daughter in-law, Christopher and Megan Jones; brother, Donald Brooks Jr. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Lena Brooks Sr. Visitation will be at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT 06409, from 11am – 1pm on Monday, April 13 followed by a prayer service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Cypress Cemetery in Westbrook. The family would like to thank the staff at Ocean Meadow Memory Care for the care they provided for Donna. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
