

Joan Marie (Overhulse) Laissue, 95, of Cromwell, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. Born on July 3, 1930, in the Bronx, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Alfred and Mary Overhulse.
Joan spent over 50 cherished years in the Otter Cove section of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, a place she deeply loved and where she built a lifetime of memories before recently residing in Cromwell.
Joan found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved crafting, took great pride in cooking for those she loved, and embraced technology with enthusiasm—especially enjoying time on her iPad. Above all, Joan treasured time spent with her family and close friends, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and kindness.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lloyd Laissue.
Joan is survived by her sister, Kathleen Napolitano; her daughters, Jeanine Laissue of Cromwell, Connecticut, and JoEllen Kelly and her husband, Gordon Kelly, of Maryland. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Hannah Orban and her husband, Nick Orban, and Christopher Kelly and his wife, Erin Kelly, as well as two great-grandchildren.
Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her grand pups, Ruby & Finn. Her kindness, creativity, and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
