Jonathan Edward Snyder, 54, of Deep River, CT left this earth February 23, 2025 surrounded by his family. Jonathan (Noj) is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jennifer, and their two children, Christopher and Benjamin, along with their bird, Beaker. Jonathan also leaves behind his father and stepmother, Richard Snyder and Keatha McCue, his mother and stepfather, Margaret and James Oldziey, his siblings, Ellen Bouffard and her husband Brian, Carolyn Wisler and her husband Boo, David Smudin, Kristen Smudin and her partner Jay, Melissa Smudin and seventeen nieces and nephews (Christopher, Stephanie, Amanda, Aimee, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan, Brianna, Mackenzie, Lia, Riley, Sophia, Carter, Bryson, Gia, Fox, and Ashton). He was predeceased by his parents-in-law David and Gloria Smudin and his brother-in-law, Ryan Kelly.
Noj, as so many people knew him by, grew up in Bristol, CT, and attended Bristol Central High School before attending Niagara University. Those that knew him in his younger years could find him skateboarding or drumming away in one of his bands. He loved music, reading, writing, art, poetry, gaming and exploring. By trade, Noj was a painter and he took pride in the work he did. He loved to fix, build, and create.
After meeting the love of his life, Jennifer Smudin, they resided in Essex for years until they started their family and established their roots in Deep River. From this point on you would be hard pressed to not find Noj with his core family unit. Jen, Christopher, and Benjamin were his entire world. Their days were filled with smiles, laughter and humor, adventures in the woods, hanging out together at home, loving, laughing, and living the way a family should.
Noj was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, friend, and above all else a husband and father. His absence will leave a void to all who loved him, and he will forever be remembered by the fierce love he had for his family and the stories he so often shared.
Services will be privately held by his family.
