It is not easy for me to stand up and talk about my Grandmother but my me memories are all full of laughter and happiness.   I have been lucky enough to have such a close relationship with her that I would call her my best friend.   I will never be able to eat chocolate chip pancakes without thinking of her or eat a peach with out thinking of the hot summers by the pool with her. She lit up the room and no matter if she was introduced to new people a Cathy in the end everyone always called her grandma.  Everyone has wonderful memories of her and we will be telling them till the end of time

To a great mother-in-law and friend.

There will be an empty chair at the holiday table this year but it will be filled with loving memories of Christmas' past.  Even though you really left us a while ago we will for the next few days say our goodbyes and celebrate with memories of the great person that you were.  

Hope that you have now found peace and rejoined all of those who have gone before you.

Give them all a big hello along with hugs and kisses from all of us.

Cattie Hughes was not a religious woman.  She didn't go to a building to pray but she was the most Christian woman I have ever known. She loved and cared for everyone who had the good fortune to come her way.  RoxAnn and I have been friends since first grade.  Her home was my second home and I loved being there! I could write a book about my fond memories, but I'll just name a few... Loin of pork with mashed potatoes from a box, sleeping inRoxAnn's purple stucco room, or really not sleeping.  I loved kneeling by the window watching the fire engines.  Rocky kept yelling at me that there would be no shortage of fire engines as the fire department was across the street.  The challenge of creeping in without hitting Bill's foot...failed every time.  My clothing was ironed better than the Chinese Laundry (and yes, mom used the Chinese laundry so I really do know!).  Most of all that beautiful smile, twinkling eyes and really pretty high heels on Friday nights when Bill and Cattie went to Mae's for drinks. There is a very special place in heaven for you, Grandma Hughes. Please give Ed a big hug and kiss from me.  I love you, Debbie
