Claire Link

Claire Link, age 95, of Centereach, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2024. Born June 15, 1929 to Lew and Hazel Hernly. Claire was married to her sweetheart, Donald Link in 1949. Together they raised three loving children, Diana Garvey, Donald (wife Eileen, daughter Kim, children Heather, James and Jessica) and David (wife Loren). Beloved grandmother to Gary (fiance Geralyn), Suzanne (husband John) and Daniel. Adored great grandmother to Ethan and Jackson. Claire is also survived by her brother, Peter Hernly. She is predeceased by her husband Don and grandson Don Jr., her sister Joyce Shepard and brother David Hernly, brother-in-laws Ken Link (wife Barbara), Robert Warren (wife Ronnie) and Allen Warren (wife Margie). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Cheryl Morgan, David Hernly Jr, Debra Chaudry, Lisa Hernly, Patti Hernly, Peter Hernly, Michael Hernly, Ray Link, Cindi Lopes, Keith Link, Chris Link, Julie Link, Robert Warren (deceased), Linda Hatanaka, Chris Warren, Deborah Warren, Douglas Warren, Bonnie Neal, Steven Warren, Lori Ann Stephenson and Denise Warren.

Claire was a data processor for Long Island Jewish hospital before she retired with her husband to their home on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. They spent happy years there boating and entertaining family and friends. After her husband Don passed in 2000 she resided with her daughter, Diana. Claire enjoyed going to broadway shows, dining out, vacationing, gardening, reading and family holidays, cooking wonderful meals for all to enjoy. Claire is fondly remembered for her vibrancy, deep caring and kindness to all and her memory will be carried forward in her loved one's hearts.
