Michael Mastrogiacomo, a beloved husband, father, brother, and proud veteran, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Diane, his children Caroline and Philip, and his sister Dolores Ferraro. Michael is survived by his devoted son, Michael, his cherished grandchildren Philip, Jacklyn, John Michael, Joseph, and Campbell, as well as his four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Rose Mouzakes and Gloria Blazo.
Born into a life of service and adventure, Michael found his calling early on as a member of the United States Army's esteemed 82nd Airborne Division. His dedication and bravery earned him the respect of his comrades and the gratitude of his nation. Beyond his military service, Michael was known for his passion for the outdoors. An avid fisherman and skilled hunter, he found solace and joy in the wilderness, where he felt most at home. Michael will be remembered not only for his courage and strength but also for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A visitation for Michael will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 33 Crown Acres Rd, Centereach, NY 11720. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
