Eleanor Joan Miller

Eleanor Joan Miller, 91, passed away at home on May 1, 2022. She was a long-time resident of Bucks County, PA and spent the last decade of her life as a Louisiana resident living with her daughter in Baton Rouge.

Joan, her preferred name, was born in Philadelphia, PA January 26, 1931 to Thomas and Florence Monahan. She was the fourth child of seven and the last to remain.

Joan was the mother of four children, George, Thomas, Patricia and Shawn. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, George & Leslie Miller, Patricia & Gregory Casiello, and Shawn & Kim Miller; 11 grandchildren; and 12 loving great grandchildren.

In PA, Joan was employed as a seamstress at the Pipersville Pants Factory. Later she found employment as a cook, and then a Radiology clerk at Doylestown Hospital until retirement age.

She loved traveling and was fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe and the United States. Her other hobbies included reading and in her younger years, hiking.

Joan was a member of Jesus Focus Ministry in Southampton, PA and Pennridge Full Gospel in Blooming Glen, PA. She had a dream to be a missionary and was able to satisfy that desire by sharing God’s word with others and by serving on a mission team with fellow church members in Mexico.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday May 7, from 11am to 12pm at Central Funeral Home 9995 Hooper Rd., Central, LA.
