

Richard F. Dotts, of Central, left this world and joined his Lord and Savior Jesus in the Heavenly Realm on June 9th, 2024. He was born on January 4, 1947, in Hartford, CN, to parents, Richard O Dotts and Mary L Sweeney. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the Mississinewa. He worked at the City of Baton Rouge Wastewater Division as a supervisor over the pump mechanics. He later retired, with twenty-five years of service.
He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. He loved reading and watching westerns. He loved camping and traveling with his wife Debbie. Richard was a jack of all trades. He loved spending time working and repairing things, and always had a helping and lending hand to anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Devall Dotts; son, Ricky Dotts (Crystal); daughter, Shannon Dotts Allen (Mitch); three sisters, Joan Martz, Barbara Clark, and Debbie Dotts Christian (Bill); two brothers, Jimmy Horne (Wanda) and Robert Dotts (Diane); two nieces, Loretta Muchow and Karla Skelton; two nephews, Kevin and Michael Horne (Afton); six grandchildren, Blake Dotts (Julie), Renee Summers Platt, Christian Allen, Mason Dotts, Caiden Allen, and Joel Dotts; two great-grandchildren, Graycen and Blakely Dotts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard O Dotts, James Carl Horne, and Mary L. Sweeney Horne and his son, Michael Anthony (Tony) Dotts.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Galilee Baptist Church 11050 Greenwell Springs, Pride Port Hudson Zachary, LA. 70791. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:30am. Pastor Brian Morgan will conduct a celebration of life at 11:30am with military honors. He will be missed by all who, knew him.
