Earl Ervin Henderson

Earl Ervin Henderson, 74, of Chehalis, Wash., passed away, Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Peace Health Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash., surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Chehalis, Wash., June 20, 1943, to Laura (Laisure) and Ervin Henderson.

Earl married Carmen Betancor Aug. 12, 1978. Between them, they have five children, many grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

After graduating from W.F. West High School in Chehalis, Earl attended trade school in Tacoma and became a successful electrician. He enjoyed a career of more than 35 years, as an electrical superintendent with Bechtel Corporation, where he received multiple acknowledgements and awards for his service, dedication and accomplishments. Earl traveled to Connecticut, California and South Korea to share his vast wealth of knowledge in his field, as a project advisor.

He was known to be exceptionally detail oriented, exacting in all projects, able to build or repair anything he set his mind to.

Most comfortable in a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt, Earl enjoyed the simple things in life such as living in the country, listening to country music, Clint Eastwood movies and working outside. He was a car enthusiast, enjoyed firearms, a hunter in his younger years and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Earl had a sarcastic wit and a knack for telling it like it is. He had strong opinions about politics and was eager to share that opinion with anyone who would listen. His vocabulary was extensive, including more curse words than most people learn in a lifetime.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all, including his dog, Nickie, whom he loved dearly.

A funeral service is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, in Centralia, interment will follow at Claquato Cemetery, in Chehalis. A luncheon will follow the graveside at the Chehalis Eagles.
