It is with great sadness we announce that on Monday, December 2, 2019, Gregory Kenneth Brown “Greg,” husband, father, son, brother, uncle, coach, friend, and all around great guy, passed away from injuries sustained in a farming accident at the age of 55.
A native of Pine City, MN, Greg grew up on his family’s dairy farm and graduated from Pine City High School in 1982, after which he enlisted in the Air Force and served as a communications security
technician. In 1984 he entered the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School and then the Academy. He graduated from USAFA in May 1989 as a 2nd Lieutenant with a degree in civil engineering and was selected into the Air Force Civil Engineering career field. Greg loved his Civil Engineering career field; his service spanned from Texas, California, Washington, Alabama, Virginia, and Washington D.C. all the way to Korea, Germany, and Macedonia. Along the way he obtained his Professional Engineer's license from the state of Texas and his Master of Science in Engineering Management from Washington State University. He retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel in May of 2007. In 2009 Greg settled in Randle, WA to become a farmer and, later, the White Pass Junior/Senior High School Cross Country Coach.
Greg is survived by his wife of 30 years and best friend, Sherry, his sons Alex and Eric, his parents Ken and Rita, and his brothers and sisters Kathy (Greg) Stephan, Beverly (Gary) Benson, Sandy (Dick) Johnson, Jackie Brown, Doug (Colleen) Brown, Brad (Brenda) Brown, and Bruce (Heidi) Brown. Greg is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
