

Margie Belle Woody-Packer, 93, of Packwood, passed away on January 14, 2017 at Providence Centralia Hospital, Centralia. Margie was born to Arthur and Ida (Geweke) Buethe on September 11, 1923 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She was born and raised in Tecumseh and graduated from high school there.
Margie moved to Washington in 1946 where she married her first love, Jack Bowman. Regrettably, Jack was taken in an automobile accident in 1966. Two years later, Margie met Clarence Woody and they were married in Wapato, WA. In 1979 they settled down in Packwood where she became a hostess at the High Valley Club House and proudly served there for 12 years, making many friends. Clarence sadly passed away in 1985. Margie some years later began to enjoy a special friendship with Harold Packer and on November 19, 1991 they were married. After living 5 years together, between Selah and Packwood, Harold passed away in 1996.
Margie loved life and enjoyed traveling and being a big part of the community. What she loved the most was her family and that included everyone she knew.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother, Rueben, and sister, Irene.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Mary Lou) Woody of Yacott, WA, daughter, Kathy Anderson of Grass Valley, CA, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 21st, at the Packwood Community Center. Services are under the care of Brown Mortuary, Morton.
