

OBITUARY - Evelyn Ragland Deason, age 97, of Centreville, AL, departed this life for a better one on October 30, 2016 at Bibb County Nursing Home. Services were held at Four Points Baptist Church at 2 P.M., on November 2, 2016 with Bro. Stan Huguley and Bro. Shane Cochran officiating with Rockco Funeral Home directing. Burial at Little Hope Cemetery followed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H. G. Ragland, Sr., and Bama Klone Ragland; step-mother, Vashti Ragland; her husband, Bryan Ford Deason; daughter, Jean McCormick Howell, infant daughter, Janice Marie Deason; son, Sammy E. Deason and three grandchildren, Susan, Steve, and Ginny Lynn Deason; seven brothers and two sisters.
Survivors: her son, Charles Deason (Anne); daughter, Lynn Leach (Bobby); son- in- law, Mike Howell; grandchildren, Larry Charles Deason (Michelle), Cheri Deason; Lori Deason; Jason Leach (Laura); and sisters, Margaret E. Taylor, Sewilla Watters (Bob), Ina Portwood (Bill) and Merita Fondren (Ronnie); nine great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a forgiving, loving person with a Christian love for all she met. Her Church family was very special to her as well as her Nurses and all who cared for her during her two years at the Bibb County Nursing Home. She overcame the hard times through her faith and exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman and leaves that testimony for all to follow.
Serving as Pallbearers were Deacons of Four Points Baptist Church and Tommy Davis and Robert Owens.
Honorary Pallbearers were staff of the Bibb Medical Center Nursing Home, Activity Staff, workers and volunteers; members of Four Points Baptist Church; Bro. Kenneth Vining; Randy Moses; Christy Caldwell; Penny Grier; Linda Johnson; Dr. Wesley Spruell & staff; Cahaba Medical Care and West Alabama Hospice Nurses and Staff.
