Jesse is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda A. Cox; two sons, Darron Cox (Linda) and Russell Cox (Cindy); six grandchildren, Courtney Allen (Andrew), Jessica Kinard (Colby), Anna-Marie Stewart (Caleb), Jesse Cox, Kalli Cox, and Makenzie Sievering; six great-grandchildren, Emory, Reese, Ava, Harper, Mykah, and Turner; two siblings, Billy Cox (June) and Vernita Johnston. He was preceded in death by his parents H.M. Cox and Jessie Cox Yerby, and his sister Joyce Reilly.
Jesse served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was retired from B.F. Goodrich, where he was a respected, fair, and caring supervisor. He was a member of Brent Baptist Church, was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and love for his family.
Services will be held at Brent Baptist Church on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pineland Memorial.
Pallbearers are Andrew Allen, Joe Cox, Brandon Johnston, Brian Johnston, Colby Kinard, Joseph Meigs, Ricky Reilly, and Caleb Stewart. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Crocker, Eddie Dial, Jackie Horton, Jim Hubbard, John Nichols, and all former and current employees of B.F. Goodrich.
