Shirley Mae Carter, age 72, of Marion, Alabama entered into rest on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Shirley was born April 24, 1948 in AL to Ruben Elburn Hicks and Minnie Pearl Clark Hicks. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Edward Carter; sons, Kenneth Terry(Teba) of West Blocton and Donald Carter(JoAnn) of Heiberger; daughters, Kelly T Corley of Indiana and Crystal Gail Averette of Brent; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister in law, Mary Hicks of West Blocton; father in law, Lewis Carter and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by her son, Eugene Terry; her parents; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 9 to 10 AM at Heiberger Methodist Church. Funeral service at 10 AM. Burial to follow in Heiberger Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Leonard Mitchell and Rev. Gervis Smith officiating.
