

Alfred "Boo" Joseph Ramirez Sr., beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the age of 70. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Ramirez and Aline Guidry Peralta Ramirez. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Vera "Lu" Lucille Parker Ramirez. He is leaving behind cherished memories and an indelible mark on those who knew him. He is survived by and a proud father to Alfred Ramirez Jr. (Melissa), Derek Ramirez (Michelle) and Barry Ramirez (Tiffany). Caring grandfather to Dante, Alexis, Emmie, Laney, Jaycee, Barry and Bella; brother to Pamela Ramirez (Charles), Doris Peralta Gray (the late Richard) and the late Val Peralta (Marie). He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Alfred also leaves behind a companion, Charlotte Hebert Becnel.
Alfred was born and raised in Violet LA, was a man of the outdoors, finding solace and joy in activities like fishing, hunting, and shrimping. Alfred also found happiness in building boats. His love for nature was evident in every expedition he embarked upon, often accompanied by his family and friends. Professionally, he dedicated his life to his craft. Earlier in his career, he contributed his talents to Buck Kreihs as a boilermaker, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with. He ended his career as pipe fitter welder at Murphy Oil and Valero. His expertise extended to welding and pipe fitting, showcasing his dedication and precision in every project he undertook.
Above all else, Alfred was devoted to his family. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart and was his greatest source of pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them, making sure to spoil them with love and his famous home-cooked meals. As we come together to celebrate Alfred’s life, let us remember the kindness in his heart, and the love he showered upon his family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created of love and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Alfred will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the love and light he brought into our lives.
All those whose lives Alfred has touched are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF LOURDES, 2621 Colonial Blvd, Violet, LA on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 10:30AM- 12:00 PM. A funeral mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CEMETERY.
