He is also survived and fondly remembered by his lifelong friend Ronnie Massett, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who all loved Andrew so much.
Andrew leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Born in New Orleans, LA, Andrew lived his life in St. Bernard Parish, where he thrived as a dedicated engineer for many years. More than his professional achievements, Andrew's heart belonged to his family. Family, football, and food was his motto and were the cornerstones of his life. He found immense joy in gathering with his loved ones every Sunday for dinner. His enthusiastic call of "Dinner's ready!" was the recognized start of cherished moments filled with laughter and togetherness. At the end of each Sunday, as his children and grandchildren departed, a cheerful chorus of "I love you MORE!" echoed between Andrew and his departing grandchildren, their playful banter and laughter lingering in the air as they drove away. It was his silly way to show us the depth of love and happiness that resided within his heart for each of us.
In 2008, his heart swelled with pride as he was honored with the title of "The Italian King" at his beloved Irish-Italian Parade. Alongside his beloved daughter, who served as his Queen, Andrew gleefully shared in this momentous occasion, their joy radiating as they adorned their regal titles. Even in later years, the pride of that day lingered as Andrew kept his cherished crown and several commemorative cups from the parade, tokens of a treasured memory that he held close to his heart.
Beyond his regal moments, Andrew was a beacon of humor and joy. His love for making others smile was evident in his passion for telling jokes and engaging in delightful, silly antics, bringing laughter and light to every gathering.
Andrew's love for Saints football and Mimi’s cooking was surpassed only by the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His generous heart and affable nature endeared him to everyone, leaving an indelible mark of warmth and kindness on everyone he encountered. Andrew's unwavering commitment to his family will forever be etched in our hearts. His loyalty, nurturing spirit, infectious laughter, and penchant for spoiling his grandchildren will be cherished memories held dear by those whose lives he touched.
He leaves behind a profound legacy of love, emphasizing the importance of family bonds and the joy found in simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In honoring Andrew's memory, may we continue to embrace the values he held dear and cherish the moments spent together, keeping alive his playful nature, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends that he loved so very much.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, January 3rd from 12:00PM – 2:00PM, followed by a Mass in Andrew’s memory beginning at 2:00PM.
