Armantine Billiot Verdin

Armantine Marie Billiot Verdin passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the age of 101. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. She was the cherished wife of the late Toussaint T. Verdin. Loving mother of Xavier Verdin, Ed Verdin, Emelia Cheramie, Imelda Vetra, Irvin Verdin, Leona Rhoades and the late Herbert Verdin. Daughter of the late Lovency and Ernestine Billiot. Sister of Aggie Guillie, Theresa Williams and Catherine Pontiff. Proud grandmother of Marc, Troy, Mike, Chris, Dawn, Ben, Karen, Scott, Cindy, Kenneth, Sean, James, Nathalie and Monique. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 35 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Armantine was a native of Lafourche Parish and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she was a faithful member of the Altar Society of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a two time recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medallion. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2820 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA on Friday, April 22nd from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00PM. She will be laid to rest in Bisland Cemetery in Bourg, LA.
