Barbara Holliman Lotz passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the age of 86. She was the loving mother of Deborah Lotz Franatovich; mother-in-law of Steven J. Franatovich; and grandmother of Wesley M. Franatovich. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Forrest Mitchell Lotz, Jr.; by her parents, the late Emma Lou Hopper Holliman and Ralph C. Holliman; and by her sister, the late Sara Holliman.
Barbara was born in Vernon, Alabama, and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for most of her life. She was a skilled crafter and loved to sew and make jewelry for her family and friends. She loved Mardi Gras and had the time of her life riding with several krewes, including Shangri-La and Aphrodite. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend, and she’ll be forever missed by those she leaves behind.
The family extends a heartfelt debt of gratitude to Carpenter House Hospice for their dedicated care during Barbara’s final days.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A graveside service will begin at 12:00 PM, in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, where Barbara will be laid to rest.
