

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty G. Ducoing, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, who peacefully passed away at the age of 90. She was born on September 30, 1934, and after a long, well-lived life filled with love and laughter, she was reunited with her loved ones on February 3, 2025. Betty is survived by her children, Judy D. Norwalt (Jim) and Mark J. Ducoing (Jeni); her 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; her twin sister, Beverly G. Nores; her sister-in-law, Jackie Gauthier; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Ducoing; her daughter, Susan Gautier; her parents, Julius V. Gauthier and Frances G. Gauthier; her brother, Michael V. Gauthier.
A dedicated and loving mother, Betty poured her heart into her children and embraced the roles of grandmother and great-grandmother with unmatched warmth. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her twin sister, with whom she shared a unique and special bond. Every night, without fail, they would talk on the phone to say "good night" to each other, a tradition that brought them immense joy and comfort over the years. Betty lived her life with a spirit of resilience and devotion, always finding joy in the company of those she loved. Her life was full of laughter, and her home was often the gathering place for family celebrations. She was known for hosting the most wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, where family and friends would come together to share food, stories, and create cherished memories. A true New Orleans Saints fan, she proudly supported her team through the highs and lows. Her love for Mardi Gras was another defining aspect of her life, as she enjoyed going to the parades with family and friends. Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. A funeral will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
