

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia Landry Oliveros, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who passed away at the age of 73. She was a woman of great strength, kindness, and love, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. Cynthia is survived by her children, Fred Mauterer III, Jerome Mauterer Sr., Kristie Oliveros and Cassie Mauterer; her 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her brother, Norman Landry Jr., and many other loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman Sr., and Oralein Landry.
Born and raised in the New Orleans, LA, Cynthia attended Andrew Jackson High School and went on to dedicate her life to caring for others in the healthcare field. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), she spent many years in home health, providing compassionate care and comfort to those in need. Cynthia was a true lover of life and took great joy in simple pleasures. She had a love for eating, especially when it came to her favorite seafood dishes. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her loved ones on Lake Pontchartrain, where she could be found making memories with family and friends, creating moments that will forever be treasured. A lover of music, she found great joy in listening to oldies but goodies tunes, often dancing with joy as the melodies filled the air. Above all, Cynthia was a proud grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her legacy lives on through her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious laughter, and the deep love she had for her family. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
