Daniel Gauthier

Daniel J. Gauthier passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Susan Schenck Gauthier for 41years. Loving father of Kelly Ann Gauthier Sexton (Robert Phillip Sexton). Son of the late Alice Schulte Gauthier and Carol M. Gauthier, Sr. Son-in-Law of Leon Calegan and the late Helen Calegan. Brother of Mitchell J. Gauthier (Judie) and the late Carol M. Gauthier, Jr. (Darlene) and Henry F. Gauthier (Sandra). Brother-in-Law of Charles Mercier (Bonnie), Linda Napolitano (Roy), Rusty Turner (Pat), Loretta Acheson (Neil), Ralph Schenck (Connie) and the late Mary Rose Cruz (Flor). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Dan was a native of New Orleans, La and a resident of St. Bernard Parish for the past 41 years. He was a collector of a great many things during his life and was known to request rocks from his family and friends from places they were vacationing. He amassed a sizable collection of these rocks but it was not nearly as large as his owl collection, which had spread into every room of his home. Dan was considerate, compassionate and always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will be private.
