Dianna Mae Williams was born on December 11, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Mary Morgan. She grew up in “Old” Braithwaite with her brothers and sisters, Audry “Cookie” Davis (late Rev. Willie Davis), Henry “Poochie” “Gitch” Morgan (Laura), Inez Cole (late Emmanuel Cole) and Melvin “Flossie” Morgan.
Dianna was truly a housewife for her entire life. She was educated at Phoenix High School. Dianna decided to follow Jesus Christ, in which she prayed and received her salvation in the Summer of 1976 where she was baptized by the late Dr. Rev. Warren V. Cooper Jr in August 1976. After baptism, Dianna joined the Usher Board and served faithfully until 2005 when Hurricane Katrina’s waters flooded the church.
On January 7, 1960, Dianna was united in holy matrimony to her high-school sweetheart and the “Love of her Life” Deacon Rudolph Williams Sr. Deacon Rudolph would often refer to Dianna as “My baby’ and “Lump”. To this union they were blessed with five beautiful children whom she loved fiercely, Donna Stevenson (Anthony), Mary Lee Williams, Denique Williams-Jones (Tyrone) and the late Rudolph Williams Jr. and Derrick Williams.
She was proud of her grandchildren: Nicholas Wagner, Tevaun Lewis Sr., the late Clifford Williams, Elston Williams, the late Chavez Williams and Dayjell Williams. Great-Grandchildren: Tah’Jai Encalade, Tevaun Lewis Jr., Trinity Williams, Elston Lindsey, Jewel Lewis, Torion Dean Jr., Taliyah Lewis, Taylor Lewis, Eli Williams and Halo Williams. And her one and only Godchild, Hewitt “Cookie-Man” Smith.
Dianna quietly slipped away on August 12, 2024. We did not want to see her go, but her work here on earth was done. It was time for her to take her rest. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Dianna was preceded in death by her beautiful beloved mother Mary Morgan, her sons Rudolph Jr. and Derrick Williams, and her grandchildren Clifford and Chavez Williams.
Our dearest Dianna will be forever missed. Her love will live on through her beloved husband, 4 siblings, 3 children, 4 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and 1 god son. She will always be remembered by generations of nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends, members of St. Andrew and Bethlehem Baptist Church Families along with the Walkers Lane and Braithwaite Communities.
Rest peacefully “Dianna”, “My Baby”, “Lump”, “Mama Do”, “Ma”, “Maw Maw”, and to her WLC family “Ms. D”.
