Doris Robin Blanchard

Doris Robin Blanchard passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the age of 82. She was the cherished wife of the late lrvin J. Blanchard, Sr. Loving mother of Norris "Pete" Blanchard, David Blanchard, Lori B. Cordes and the late lrvin "EJ" Blanchard, Jr., Judy Hockaday and Suzanne "Susie" Curtis. Mother -in-law of Scott Cordes, Brian Curtis and Kathleen Blanchard. Daughter of the late Sebastian Robin, Sr. and Jennie N. Robin. Proud grandmother of Kelly, David, Leslie, Jared, Krista & Mason Blanchard; Lauren Ledet, Kimberly, Jennie & lrvin Secrest. Great grandmother of Ava, Evan, Alexis, Callie, Lani, Gabrielle, Colt, Scarlett & Kelly Blanchard, Jr.; Hope Morales, Jurzie Roberts, Raquel Guidry, Serenity Dalton, De'Anne Serpas and Bentley Williams. Sister of Pearl Raasch, Earlene Dardar, Edith Chuter, Martha Posey, Paul and Sebastian Robin, Jr. and the late Gloria Freire, Mary Abadie and David & Kenneth Robin. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Special thanks to Debra Lebert and Richard Raasch for their kind help when it was needed most.

Doris was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She was a dedicated and loving mother and friend to many who taught us that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She will be missed by all who were touched by her love, kindness, laughter and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, October 29th from 1:00PM – 3:00PM, followed by a memorial service in Doris’ memory beginning at 3:00PM. Burial will be private.
