Ernest Joseph Campo passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Antoinette Franatovich Campo. Son of the late Joseph and Mary Evans Campo. Brother of Edna Robin, Jean Lebouef and the late Lillian Domingo, Roy Campo Sr. and Nelson Campo. He is also survived and fondly remembered by those who cared for him so dearly, Tara Mankin, Glenn Mankin, Austin and Lil Glenn, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Although Ernest had no children, he lovingly helped raise Marilyn Ruiz, Rusty Campo, Angel Guerra and Ernie Campo as his own. Ernest was a lifelong resident of Yscloskey, LA until hurricane Katrina and has since resided in Caernarvon, LA where he enjoyed a long career as a commercial fisherman with childhood sweetheart Antoinette by his side. He was well loved and blessed us with so many wonderful memories through his love, laughter, kindness and compassion. He will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, May 31st from 9:30AM – 12:00PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
