Sister of Leroy Melancon and the late Aline Rodriguez, Edgar Melancon and Alfred “A.J.” Melancon. Esther was born in Thibodaux, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. Her love for cooking was renowned among her family and friends. With a flair for creativity, Esther's kitchen was a hub of warmth and delicious aromas. She had a way of bringing people together with her wonderful meals, which were always made with love and served with a generous side of laughter and storytelling. In addition to her culinary skills, Esther was a gifted seamstress. She could turn any piece of fabric into a work of art with her nimble fingers and eye for detail. One of Esther's greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She reveled in their laughter, celebrated their achievements, and nurtured their dreams. When we were much younger, weekends held a special place in Esther's heart as she and her family enjoyed trips to their beloved camp that provided a serene escape where everyone could unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings, and bask in the company of her loved ones. Those weekends were always filled with laughter and love. Esther's legacy of love, passion, and dedication will continue to live through the memories shared by her family and many dear friends.
