

Frank Lawrence Acosta Sr. passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the age of 72 He was the devoted husband of Marie Gassen Acosta, and preceded in death by his first wife Carol F. Acosta. Loving father of Donna Acosta Molitor (husband Dave), Heidi Perry and Frank Acosta Jr. Proud grandfather of Kourtnie Palmisano, Kelsey Acosta, Joshua Acosta and Jonathan Molitor. Great-grandfather of Kyler. Brother of Raymond Acosta and Dolores Acosta Matherne. He was preceded in death by Pete Acosta, Joseph Acosta, Anthony Acosta, Lilian Acosta Thore, along with his parents Antonio Acosta and Lillian Espinia Acosta. He is loved and fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends and neighbors. Frank was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where he enjoyed a career as a Crane Operator at Amax Nickel Plant in Braithwaite for 25 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parish in Violet where he was devoted to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary every day until he got sick. He will be forever remembered for putting his family first and was always there for them. He was a man who loved all children he would meet and would often enjoy practical jokes with family and friends. Even throughout all his trials and tribulations he kept a smile on his face. He was a model patient to so many doctors in his life that treated his illness and came to know him well. Family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors at LA Heart Hospital for their care and compassion during Frank’s illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, June 16th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
