Frank Trapani III

Frank Trapani, III entered into eternal life on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was 79 years old. He was the devoted husband of 38 years to his beloved wife, Leatrice "Sissy" Theady Trapani; loving father of Terry Schubert (Allen), Cheryl Remick (Paul), Patti Willoz (Warren), Frank Trapani IV (Patsy), Stephen Guidry (Ashley), and Frank Trapani V (Italia); proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and brother of Marvin Trapani (Sandra) and Paul Trapani (Joanna). He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Frank “June” Trapani, Jr. and Evelyn Schmidt Trapani. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Frank was a cowboy at heart and was rarely seen without his boots and his Dungarees. He loved all things Country and Western and bedecked his home, and his person, in that signature style. He was a talented woodworker who spent many hours in his shed, building and working with his hands - he even built a replica stagecoach, to the amazement and delight of his family and friends. He had a lifelong love of horses, and his childhood horse, "Pretty Gal," always held a special place in his heart. Frank dearly loved his wife and family, and was happiest when in their company, especially during the Christmas Season and other holidays. He was a true "patriarch," immersed in his family history, and did his best to guide his loved ones with a soft hand, down a path of wisdom. He often joked about being a true cowboy in his next life, and his family is certain that even now, he's riding a horse into Heaven's eternal sunset. He was an amazing man, husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be forever missed by all those he leaves behind.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 PM. Frank will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
