Gloria A. Acosta

Gloria A. Acosta, age 90, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, with her beloved husband of 68 years at her bedside. She was born on August 18, 1933 in the small village of Bencheque, (now known as Reggio) Louisiana in Lower St. Bernard Parish to Herman "Monk" Acosta and Josephene Nunez Acosta. She is survived and fondly remembered by her husband, Herman V. Acosta Jr., her sons: Keith, Eric, and Boyd Acosta, (Ken Acosta deceased 11-13-2015), her extended family Brenda G. Acosta, Robin D. Acosta and Karen Cook. She had two loving brothers: Danny Acosta, Lanny Acosta and a loving sister: Judy Acosta Martinez. She was also survived by her grandchildren: Keith Dash Acosta, Brad C. Acosta, Romeo Giovani, Ryan Acosta, Tina Acosta, Alyssa Acosta, Luke Acosta, Myleah Acosta and her 10 Great Grandchildren. Gloria was a well loved and respected wife, mother, teacher, assistant principal and principal working at Sebastian Roy School and Gautier Elementary School. She was a friend to many. She loved all her children, family and friends very much.

She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CEMETERY, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
