

Guillermo Ramos, 92, of New Orleans passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016. Guillermo "Hawotei" was born in Roatan, Honduras to Felix Ramos and Eva Dixon. He left the Bay Islands to pursue a career as a merchant marine. Although his work took him all over the world, he settled in the United States with his family in hopes for a better life. Some of his passions were playing the guitar, dancing, and playing the ponies at the race track. He is preceded in death by his wife Zoila Ramos and his sister Dulce Bodden. He is survived by his five children Ellen Barclay (Schaffer), Willine Damian, Guillermo Ramos (Roseanne), Felix Ramos, and Francisco Ramos (Ebony); twelve grandchildren Katie Meeks (Michael), Lindsey Poche, Aleen LeBoeuf (Jules), Sabrina Khadaroo (Christopher), Ricky Damian, Kristina Lawson (Nathan), Rachelle Ramos, Carolina Ramos, Elijah Ramos, Abigail Ramos, Selena Ramos, and Joshua Ramos; six great-grandchildren Haskell and Hunter Canman, Hazel Ramos, Harlo Cartozzo, and Gage and Emma LeBoeuf, and sister Leah Bennett. Guillermo will be missed but never forgotten. May God continue to keep his memory alive in the hearts of his friends and family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial gathering at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM.
