Harry Joseph Gioe passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the age of 70. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Constance “Connie” Flattmann Gioe. Son of the late Joseph "Buck" Gioe and Joyce Doran Gioe. Loving father of Jeffrey J. Gioe (Rebecca) and Jene Hebert (Ronnie Jr.). Brother of Barry Gioe (Cindy) and Lori Gioe Cauthen. Proud grandfather of Haylee Gioe, Riley Noto, Ronnie Hebert III, Beaux Hebert, Ryann Gioe, and Cooper Hebert.
Harry was born in New Orleans, LA and spent most of his life in Chalmette, where he built not only a home, but a life rooted in family, hard work and simple joys. He dedicated many years to his career as a crane operator, working side by side with his brother Barry with his strong work ethic and the importance he placed on family.
He found true happiness in life’s simplest moments. Whether he was out fishing, enjoying time on the water, relaxing with his beloved dog Sadie or watching his grandchildren pursue what they loved, those were the moments that meant the most to him. He had a special way of appreciating the little things, and through that, he taught all of us to do the same.
He was a man who loved deeply and showed it in quiet, meaningful ways through his loyalty, his generosity, his laughter and especially in the way he adored his grandchildren. His presence brought comfort, joy and a sense of steadiness to those around him.
He will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd, Chalmette, LA on Monday, April 13th from 9:30AM - 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Harry's memory beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
