Herbert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years Cynthia Randazzo Dotson. He is the loving father of Ashley Gould (Luke), and Alex Dotson (Cali); grandfather to Brayden, Brinley, Ansleigh, and Casen; uncle of Jeff Hamilton (Laken), Matt, Dan, and Chris; brother-in-law of Kathy Anderson (Mark); son-in-law to Georgia Randazzo; and brother Kenneth Dotson.
Herbert proudly served in the US Marines, earning the Sharpshooter Rifle Badge. He was a dedicated worker of Southern Recycling for 38 faithful years. In addition, he was dedicated lover of succulents, his home was adorned with an array of these resilient plants, each a testament to his nurturing spirit and appreciation for the beauty in every living thing.
Herbert was a man of many loves: his enduring succulents, fishing, NASCAR, the Saints; but his greatest love was for his grandchildren. He reveled in the laughter that echoed during fishing trips, teaching them the delicate art of caring for succulents, and imparting the wisdom that only a grandfather's heart could hold.
Our hearts are heavy, but our spirits are lifted by the knowledge that Herbert Dotson Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and shared passions.
May Herbert's memory live on in the blooming succulents and the shimmering waters he so dearly loved, and may we find solace in knowing that he now casts his line in the eternal river of tranquility.
