

Inez Mildred Baham Pelitere passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the age of 89. She was the cherished wife of the late Frank Joseph Pelitere Sr. for 65 years. Loving mother of Frank Joseph Pelitere Jr. (Judy) and the late Janice Pelitere Hemelt (Leo). Daughter of the late Forest and Belle Lee Baham. Sister of the late Weda Willie, Josephine Couget, Virgil Baham, Arlie Baham, Ancil Baham, Ernest Baham, Wade Baham and Yvette Reed. Proud grandmother of Michael Pelitere (Margaret), Heather Pelitere, Ryan Hemelt (Laura), Andrea Lang (Michael) and Rebecca Butler (Alan). Great grandmother of Chloe Pelitere, Cameron Pelitere, Collin Pelitere, Karina Hemelt, Adrian Hemelt, Angelina Hemelt, Victoria Hemelt, Luis Hemelt, Miles Lang, Ray Butler, Elijah Butler and Benjamin Butler. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and a special thanks to Shirley, Gloria and Cindy.
Inez was born on August 16, 1926 in Folsom, LA and was a resident of Chalmette, LA for over 60 years. She was a current resident of Home Life in the Gardens in New Orleans, LA. Inez was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and was very active in the church and school. She was the consummate homemaker and was passionate about her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. Inez will be forever remembered for her kindness, compassion and empathy for her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Vincent de Paul No. 3 Cemetery.
