Jack Catanzaro

Jack “The Cat” Catanzaro, a proud US Army Veteran, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Arabi, LA on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 12:54 AM the age of 84. Born August 3, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Rosalie Caruso Catanzaro and Frank Catanzaro. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Shirley Lorraine Catanzaro. Devoted father of Diane Halloway, Rosalie Jean D’Angelo and Florance Angela Joachim. Step-father of Sandra Gamber. Brother of Carol Ebeling. Proud grandfather of Kris Halloway, Joshua Halloway, James Newton, Holly Mottet, Cher Briggs, Paula Broussard and Jack Torres MD. Also survived by over 23 great grandchildren.

Jack was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish where he was a respected and loyal employee of Dominos Sugar Refinery for over 40 years. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, who treasured his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace with Our Father in Heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private.
