Jacqueline Blouin Lapeyrouse passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Robert Earl Lapeyrouse. Loving mother of Robbie Lapeyrouse (Cathy), Loralie Appel (Eddie) and the late Scott Allen Lapeyrouse. Daughter of the late Inez Dupuis Blouin and Albert Blouin. Sister of Arlin King (Ernie) and the late Bertrand Blouin and Aaron Blouin. Proud grandmother of Paige Hall (Jim) and Lyle Lapeyrouse (Monique). Great grandmother of Charles Hall, Reese Hall, Collyn Hall, Tripp Lapeyrouse and Luke Lapeyrouse. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Jacqueline was born in Algiers, LA and moved to New Orleans in the late 1940s, where she began a long life filled with creativity, independence and deep connections with those around her. She later settled in St. Bernard Parish, where she lived for many years until Hurricane Katrina changed the course of her life. Following the storm, she moved to Mandeville, which remained her home until her passing.
Jacqueline was a devoted beautician for an extraordinary 57 years. Her career was more than a profession, it was her passion and a way for her to enjoy her connection with people. Hurricane Katrina ultimately led to her retirement at the age of 75, but her legacy on generations of clients and friends endured far beyond her working years.
She had a true love for dancing and could often be found enjoying Sunday nights at the Jefferson Orleans. Jacqueline was also a gifted artist, known for her beautiful oil paintings and a remarkably talented seamstress. From bedspreads and curtains to Mardi Gras costumes and bathing suits, there was truly nothing she could not make.
She loved life and all the joy it had to offer. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She cherished Mardi Gras, trips to the casino and especially her beloved dogs, Todie, Tabitha and Precious. Above all, she loved people and cherished her family. Strong-willed and never afraid to speak her mind, she lived fully, authentically and on her own terms.
Rest in peace, dear Jacqueline. You enjoyed a wonderful life, were deeply loved and will always be remembered for your strength, creativity and laughter. You were our pillar of courage and strength and a wonderful example of what it means to care for others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W.
