Janet Mancuso Fousch

Janet Mancuso Fousch passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the age of 70. She was the loving wife to Jacob “Jake” Fousch III for 49 years. Proud mother to Jacob Fousch (Tori) and Jared Fousch (Jennifer). Caring grandmother to Addison, Amelia and Lillian Fousch; sister to Christie “Kitty Boo” Mancuso Lehrmann and Frank Mancuso III (Karen); aunt, Carlie Lehrmann, Gina Mancuso Brady and Frank Mancuso IV. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Joseph Mancuso Jr. and AnnaMay Tranchina Mancuso. Janet was born in Uptown New Orleans and raised in Arabi, LA. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1970. Janet attended Nunez Community College and then graduated with a Bachelors in Education from Our Lady of Holy Cross College with honors. She taught middle school math for 20 years at PGT Beauregard Middle, St. Bernard Unified and St. Bernard Middle. She won Teacher of the Year at PGT Beauregard. Janet enjoyed doing crafts, creating beautiful art and spending time with her 3 granddaughters. If Janet was not hanging out with her sons and grandchildren, she would be enjoying the Mississippi Gulf Coast with her husband and friends at the casino. She looked forward to summer vacations and spending Thanksgiving at the beach with her family every year. Her greatest love was family dinners, celebrating holidays and birthdays with her family. Janet was known best for being a great listener, giving the best hugs and the most thoughtful gifts. She will be missed by us all. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 11:00AM-1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Janet's life with a catered reception with food and refreshments in the Magnolia Room at St. Bernard Memorial following the services.
