

Joseph Wesley Klein, a Veteran who proudly served his country as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Marine Corps, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the age of 85. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his very memorable life. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Mary Ann Wellmeyer Klein. Loving father of Mark Klein (Rose), Christopher Klein Sr. (April) and Joey Klein (Donna). Son of the late Ruth Swindler Daroca and Harold Klein. Brother of Laura Brunies. Proud grandfather of Christopher Klein Jr., Jason Klein, Jana Bordelon and Brittany Klein. Great-grandfather of Audrey Klein, Riley Klein and Aiden Bordelon. Uncle of Sherrie St. Germain. Joseph was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA where he enjoyed a long career with Kaiser Aluminum. He was active in his community with friends & family and a member of the St. Bernard Council on Aging. He was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and brother, who loved his country and treasured his family. Special thanks to the Ameracare Family Hospice and Home Health for the love and care they gave to my husband, Joseph. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, November 3rd from 12:00PM – 2:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 2:00PM.
