Larry Ray Jackson

Larry Ray Jackson Sr. passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the age of 77. He was the cherished husband of the late Betty Cangiamilla Jackson for 45 years. Loving father of Larry Jackson Jr. (JoAnn), Cindy Hernandez, Bruce Jackson (Charlene), Mark Jackson (Sharri) and Jill McCorkel (Keith). Son of the late Ethel Kennedy Jackson and George Jackson Sr. Brother of George Jackson (June) and Eric Jackson (the late Judy). Proud grandfather of Jimbo, Kristy, Stephanie (Mike), B.J., Chad (Mandee), Ryan (Dakota), Kodi, Brittany (Ryan), Courtney (Rodney), Hayven and the late Shauntel. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved furever friends Ginger and the late Sassy. Larry was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of St. Bernard Parish since 1971. He was a Sergeant for the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office and retired after 26 years of service and retired from Hotel Dieu after 20 years of service. Larry also worked for Wayne Mumphrey’s Law Firm. Larry was a member of the Hurstell Social Club for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:30 PM. He will be laid to rest in St Bernard Memorial Gardens.
