We remember Le Nguyen Shipley, who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on December 24, 1969, Le lived a life shaped not by fanfare, but by constant kindness, quiet strength, and a genuine love for the people around him, the qualities that defined him to everyone who knew him.
Le had a remarkable gift for making people feel heard. He listened with intention, spoke with warmth, and treated others with respect, traits coworkers noticed and admired, often remarking that they had never met someone as genuinely kind as him. Whether at work or at home, Le’s presence had a calming, reassuring effect that drew people to him.
He built his life around relationships. For 31 years, he shared a deep, steady partnership with his beloved wife, Daisy, a bond of mutual care and quiet joy. Le was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather whose love was expressed in the steady ways of everyday life.
Le’s joy also came from the pleasures that brought family and friends together. He delighted in fantasy football, where his thoughtful strategies and good-natured rivalry added laughter and camaraderie to every season. He also found pleasure in fishing trips, travels near and far, and cooking meals that became gatherings filled with stories and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lang Shipley and Le Nguyen.
Le is survived by his wife, Daisy; his children Alexander (Molly), Brandon (Maddy), and Mehling; and his grandchildren Isla and Ella, who knew him as their loving and patient grandfather. He is also survived by his father William Shipley; his mother-in-law Haydee Caballeros (Carlos Zuniga); sisters-in-law Denise Caballeros, Jessica Caballeros, and Carol Toomer; brothers-in-law Carlos Caballeros and Ronald Toomer; and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit of gentleness and generosity.
A memorial service to celebrate Le’s life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
Le will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his listening heart, and a kindness that made life better for those around him. The mark he left on the world was not loud, it was profound, steady, and deeply felt by all who knew him.
